Monrovia, October 15, 2025 — President Joseph Nyuma Boakai, Sr. has dismissed the Director General and Deputy Director General of the National Public Health Institute of Liberia (NPHIL), citing administrative reasons.
Those relieved of their posts are Dr. Dougbeh Chris Nyan, Director General, and Dr. Adams K. Lincoln, Deputy Director General.
Following their dismissal, the President has appointed Dr. Sia Wata Camanor to serve as Interim Director General (Officer-in-Charge) of the institution. Dr. Camanor is tasked with working closely with the NPHIL Board, the Ministry of Health, other government agencies, and international partners to ensure the Institute’s stability and continuity of operations until a new Director General is appointed.
The Executive Mansion said the action forms part of President Boakai’s ongoing efforts to strengthen institutional leadership and enhance accountability across the public sector.
