Lofa County – In a moment filled with celebration and hope, the citizens of Yarpuah Town could not hold back their tears of joy as Senator Momo Cyrus officially dedicated a new market building. The event marked a significant milestone for the community, reflecting both the commitment of local leadership and the dedication of the townspeople.

During the ceremony, Senator Cyrus pledged a generous contribution of one million Liberian dollars to support the market’s growth and sustainability. At the ceremony, he provided an initial payment of 350,000 Liberian dollars, assuring that the remaining balance would be delivered within the year. This financial commitment underscores his dedication to the economic development of Yarpuah Town and surrounding areas.

In addition to his monetary pledge, Senator Cyrus also provided 50 bags of cement aimed at completing the town hall, which further emphasizes his commitment to community infrastructure. Recognizing the broader needs of neighboring villages, he donated 500 USD to the nearby village of Gbansualoma.

In his remarks, Senator Cyrus expressed his gratitude to the citizens for their cooperation and support in making the market project a reality. “This market is a testament to what we can achieve together as a community,” he stated, highlighting the importance of unity in driving progress.

Madam Sue Kollie, the marketing chairperson, shared her appreciation for Senator Cyrus’s outstanding support, stating that he has instilled a newfound belief in the potential of senators to make a difference in the lives of their constituents. “Since I was born, I have never seen such commitment from a senator. Senator Cyrus has shown us that change is possible,” she said, praising his contributions to both the market building and the livelihoods of local market women.

Town Chief Momo Benedict also publically expressed his gratitude to Senator Cyrus for his dedicated service, acknowledging the various projects and initiatives he has undertaken for the benefit of the community. He reiterated his support and commitment to the senator’s vision for Yarpuah Town.

The festive atmosphere during the turnover of the market building was palpable, with citizens celebrating the new opportunities the market represents for their livelihoods. The local community leaders and residents alike hailed the event as a turning point for the town, promising to work together to ensure the market flourishes for generations to come.
